Subject: Axolotl

lyrics

I paid a small fee to enter the Jardin des Plantes, Paris
To while away, before watching a play
Out in the daylight my friends the lions were taking a bite
Familiar to me, and boring, zoologically

The apes and their like, were not to my like-ing
Constantly scratching their heads with their toes and fight-ing
And panther and kind, were acting unkind
Agrressively searching for food and fun and sniffing behinds

It took courage, to enter the dark
This dank and forgotten part of the park

Black haloed golden eyes
Tiny fingers glassy sides
Rosy bodied 6 inch size
Axolotl, hypnotise

Returning each time, for aesthetic sublime
Yearning to press my nose to your tank, and question your mind
To study your poise, and how to sex the girls from the boys
Regenerative powers, that would vex me for hours

Got lost in your fronds, in your crimson fronds
Your translucent ceramic doll like skin above and beyond
Salamander meandering by
Never to know the blue of the blue of the blue of the sky

Then one day as I, looked on you
You regarded me too
Then I saw what you, saw when I
Stood their staring inside

Felt my feet on aquarium glass
Your new feet traversed the park
Now I live as you once did and
Live the new life axolotl

Black haloed golden eyes
Tiny fingers glassy sides
Rosy bodied 6 inch size
Axolotl, hypnotise

We came up with a concept or theme for an album, then asked people to choose subjects around that theme and compose some music. The theme for our first album was science. The theme for our latest album is Spielberg. Enjoy! ... more
