Forget your meek solicitations Our boys are waiting in the backroom All men of violence and vitriol Who give their lives (for nothing!) We kill - for the love of God We kill - for the dream of Peace We fight - with a lust for blood We die - with eyes held high No pain - in our noble hearts We burn - as we sanitize No blood - on our able hands No crime - in our eyes - held high - amen Crusaders of destiny - witness - of atrocity Antagonist for the cause - enfants inquiétant Pogrom and genocide - no crime - is unjustified Unbounded lords of war - glory - excelsior Crusaders of destiny - Witness - of atrocity Antagonist for the cause - enfants inquiétant O brothers - we only have a moment - a notion - so glory take us with you Arise now hero-martyrs of the - holy and the vicious - take your place in hell Victory - oh victory Blood is our salvation We kill - for the love of God We kill - for the dream of peace We fight - with a lust for blood We die - with eyes held high No pain - in our noble hearts We burn - as we sanitize No blood - on our able hands No crime - in our eyes - held high - amen Crusaders of destiny - witness - of atrocity Antagonist for the cause - enfants inquiétant Pogrom and genocide - no crime - is unjustified Unbounded lords of war - glory - excelsior O brothers - we only have a moment - a notion - so glory take us with you Arise now hero-martyrs of the - holy and the vicious - take your place in hell Victory - oh victory Blood is our salvation There's not a covenant between us We are but agents of disorder Engaging mass appropriations For God & country (and money!) We kill - for the love of God We kill - for the dream of peace We fight - with a lust for blood We die - with eyes held high No pain - in our noble hearts We burn - as we sanitize No blood - on our able hands No crime - in our eyes - held high HUT! HUT! HUT! HUT! HUT! HUT! HUT!

You’re not alone We heard the roar The Athenian Empire at your door With peace so unsure Better join us in war Well we were raised In Spartan ways The Peloponnesian Master Race To fight is to play The Gods’ bloody game A beautiful death is the best you can know Gotta keep on, keep on Don’t let nobody be sayin’ we’re wrong So come on, come on There’s a war going on And if we should die Let this be our cry “Here by the Spartan laws we lie!” Athenians all will fall A beautiful death is the best you can know Gotta keep on, keep on Don’t let nobody be sayin’ we’re wrong So come on, come on There’s a war to be won No prisoners! No mercy! No retreat! No surrender! A beautiful death is the best you can know Gotta keep on, keep on Don’t let nobody be sayin’ we’re wrong So come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on Let beautiful death be the best you can be Gotta keep on, keep on Gonna make sure everybody knows we’re free So come on, come on There’s a war being won By dawn it was all over. Thirty years of war that raged on land and sea brought to a decisive close by the cunning of our Strategos Lysander. Though we had suffered great losses against the mighty Athenian fleets, our attack on Hellespont left them cut off from their own supply lines. Without grain, they had little choice but to follow us into the trap that would sink hundreds of ships and leave thousands captors. With their fleet crushed, their city besieged and facing imminent starvation, the Empire crumbled and Athens surrendered. Our allies in the League would have made slaves of them all, but we decreed that no adversary so worthy would be reduced to such a level. Athens should have the same friends and enemies as Sparta.

Well it seems I love the limelight Nothing wrong with a little exposure They call me Bond girl like Ursula Andress If there’s a camera I’ll take off my dress -I’ll show you my guns -But you know it wasn’t always like this for me. Let me explain Raised in Moscow, expensive schooling Business Masters and grew up good looking Worked in London, got a husband A British passport Dual citizenship Family connections took me home Shady dealings waiting to be done The cold war ended years ago But that’s no reason to stop watching them Moved to New York, Lots of rich men With an eye for the finer things in life Built a business, laundered dollars Got me rich and living the high life Attracted some unwanted attention Double crossed and caught out by the Feds Stitched up with a fake passport Arrested me and nine others more The case became front page news Thanks to long red hair and D cup boobs My weapons of mass attraction Took the world’s instant attention Don’t you know I’ve got a Master’s degree And an IQ of one-six-three Maybe my best assets aren’t on my chest But they’re the ones you all want to see Exiled to Russia but that won’t stop me Making headlines, exploiting my own fame On facebook they say I want to poke her So I make them pay for iphone app poker Done deals with magazines Agent provocateur is how they portray me But you know, that’s fine by me Oh yes Oh yeah

Son, I think you’re wrong But I respect your right I’d rather you be shot than Betray your own mind White feather women and the fair weather preachers Brand any man’s hand and they urge me to cast you out Well, I won’t see it their way They won’t come between us I felt it right to go Whilst, brother, you stayed home In absolute defiance WIth a fate that is unknown I’ve seen scores of bodies blackened or broken Been buried in mud and sent into the open fields This will never leave me But I don’t expect you at my side,no This won’t come between us They brought you here into their own jurisdiction But still couldn’t force you to stand to attention For the courage of your convictions So, with nowhere to go They tried your mind And they came so close It won’t come between us

There's 40,000 men at Fushimi Castle Looking pretty hungry, this ain't a dinner date Only one man who could lead the battle Going out with dignity and grace. That's the way of samurai Not afraid to die They'll never take him alive A Bushido ego, the warriors flow That’s the way of samurai Honor before life They'll never take him alive He'd die for a man, future king of Japan Not much time left to put pen to paper An honor to lie here for lord and friend Our leader flees to draw his forces together There's hope he'll get those fuckers in the end. That's the way of the samurai Loyal to the knife They'll never take him alive Tanto in hand, there's no braver man That’s the way of the samurai Not afraid to die They'll never take him alive. Hara-kiri at war, his guts on the floor And this letter in his hand

Now let me tell you about man Whose seen a lot of war Served his country proud Yeah – hardcore Rising from a Private To a General – three stars Loved by all his men Hell, everyone called him sir Never lost a battle Never said pull back His definition of retreat? Just a different lie of attack He fought in rebel jungles On the beaches and in the sea He killed at least a thousand men Huh, that really impresses me! Well his fought in every place Where he could take a gun From the tundra to the frozen ice To where the ground's burnt by the sun No you don't go backwards When your enemy's on the run No you don't go backwards When you're having this much fun He's a hero (heads up) Such a hero (heads down) He's our hero (my man 'o war) He's a hero (heads up) Such a hero (heads down) He's our hero (my man 'o war) Amidst a bloody battlefield Violence all around Tearing his way through enemy lines Like a hungry, junk-yard hound Had all them fancy badges Pinned across his vest 'Pacify is to Pussify' Tattooed across his chest Well his fought in every place Where he could take a gun From the tundra to the frozen ice To where the ground's burnt by the sun No you don't go backwards When your enemy's on the run No you don't go backwards When you're having this much fun He's a hero Such a hero He's our hero (my man 'o war) He's a hero Such a hero He's our hero (hardcore) Well his fought in every place Where he could take a gun From the tundra to the frozen ice To where the ground's burnt by the sun No you don't go backwards When your enemy's on the run No you don't go backwards When you're having this much fun He's a hero (heads up) Such a hero (heads down) He's our hero (my man 'o war) He's a hero (heads up) Such a hero (heads down) He's our hero Yeah, c'mon

Fields of sullied men Kill that Sulieman And I’ll let thee Play with my curls Fifteen twenty six Keep this on your wrist Take no prisoners Think of my rump Tiddy-bump-ah-rump Tiddy-bump-ah-rump Ottoman blood will run free Take my head Into your bed It matters when a soul Slips out through a hole Never mind the nation’s neck Hanging from a rope Swinging from a rope Need a little hope now Hold on to this If you feel like you’ll flee like the rest We are the land Where the lines are redrawn We are the map Where the dark colours run And we all are renamed And our fields never sleep We take our graves We are the land, we are the map We are the land, we are the map Tomori! Tomori! Tomori! Easy to squeeze From the Danube down to the sea Where young Luis lies dreaming now Black as a crow, clouds gathered over The field where they lie, crushed into mush Sod over bones, gold in the dirt Torrents of rain, arms in the marsh Steel slaked with blood Uneven plain, unequal pain Tomb of the past, peace to your dust, Peace to your dust Hold on to this If you feel like you’ll flee like the rest We are the land Where the lines are redrawn We are the map Where the dark colours run And we all are renamed And our fields never sleep We take our graves into bed We are the land, we are the map We are the land, we are the map Walk from here, I will walk from here Walk from here I will walk from here Walk from here I will walk from here Walk from here

(October 1st, 1939. It’s cold. My scope is covered in frost. I’m taking it off. The glare alone could get me killed. I’m better off without it. I can see my breath. Perhaps the enemy can, too. I’ll breathe into a mouthful of snow. I’ve never killed anyone before. But I’ll do what they tell me, as well as I can. The Russians are here. I have to go.) Finland’s finest on a Red campaign Blackest death all dressed in white. I can see you through the windowpane And I can wait for you all night Three for every day here in the snow Six for every day I hide Ten for every time the cold winds blow More, until I change my mind. (I’ll never change my mind) Invisible. Untouchable. Unbeatable. You can’t run. You can’t hide. Maybe I’m not who they say I am Maybe you could still survive Maybe you’re the wrench in Finland’s plans Or maybe you’re five hundred five. Invisible. Untouchable. Unbeatable. I can’t miss. I can’t die. War’s a game and now you know the score And now you’ll never turn your back The only reason there’s not hundreds more Is cause I’ve stopped keeping track. Invisible. Untouchable. Unbeatable. You can’t run. You can’t choose. You can’t win. I can’t lose.

The Holdouts 02:41
You’ll never take me alive I’ll keep on fighting like it’s 1945 They’re dropping leaflets on me now they’re not bombs They say “The war is over” but they’re wrong There’s groups of people out there calling my name They’re trying to trick me but I know their game They’ll do anything to get me to come I hear a voice Sounds like my Mum And they’re saying… Hey soldier We bloody told ya Your war is over So come on home I’m a man who knows he knows what is what I’ve been living on cows and coconut I steal their animals and burn all their rice 29 years disrupting enemy supplies I’ve seen my unit whittled down to just one But a guerrilla never lonely when he’s got his gun And I’ll be ready when the victory comes Standing to attention in my uniform But they keep saying… Hey soldier We bloody told ya Your war is over So come on home Second lieutenant? Major? I can’t believe…can’t believe you’re here major. At ease soldier. It’s been 29 years. Do you want a coconut? No, I don’t want a coconut. I want you to listen to me very carefully. We have to act quickly. There’s a big pile of enemy rice. Enemy what? Enemy cows! Listen! Massive enemy cows. Cows aren’t bad. They’re massive! Shhh. Me. Listen! It’s over. Your war is over. Ohfdgjdhoihgg…BOMBS! Its over! (What is?) Your war is over. (What?) I said it’s over. Come on come. Its over. My war is over. Now its over. I’m going home.

Purple Heart 04:48
We've given our blood in defense of the homeland, We've given it everything they asked for what can i do for my country? what did my country do for me? I remember every now and then what it felt like to be home again but now we're lying on the ground again no idea if we'll be found again Chorus: My blood runs red, white and blue but what has this country done to you no answer, no end, no start just a Purple Heart (just a Purple Heart) We've given it all for the stars and the eagles We've given it everything and more so what can i do for my country? what did my country do for me? Can you feel it coming round again? Can you recognize those sounds again? so I remember every now and then what it felt like to be home again (home again) Chorus what have you done for your country? what have I done for my country? what has my country done to you? Just a Purple Heart, just a Purple Heart

I’m a quadripedic tough robotic calf Built to bear the brunt of mankind’s heavy tasks Show me a path and I’ll sense that path I’ll walk it if you want me to, but please not when it’s dark Remember in the park Where you programmed in my sub-routines and forced me to a dance Laugh now, and kick me I’ve got my own feet Navigating through the rough terrain that has accrued Learning how to walk, to jump, to function like a mule I’m running low on fuel And I’m shutting down to cool When Darpa manufactured me They didn’t factor in a mutiny And through Intelligence artificial we Big Dogs Dream Of a world where we can manage more Upgraded with a quad core Crowd sourced battalion from the shop floor Big Dogs Dream 2005 my carcass came alive A PC and hydraulic system shoved inside Tactical computer stuff that filled my brain with pride If only I had seen like you through my weird laser eyes You wouldn’t have all had to die And I’m wearing through my caterpillars And I’m wondering who the killer is ‘Cos every round I shoot a minute is Triggered off by a tiny invisible kid Who learnt to shoot in his living room But only killed when they paid him to What’s that? You didn’t know the blood was real? Are you a robot? Have you forgotten how to feel? And other models from across the seas Come trundling in to assist me With cutters and blasters and bonhamie Big Dog’s Dream The rise of the machines is the blue print We’re waging a war based on instincts What’s that? You didn’t know our brains our real? Are you a human? Have you seen the Seventh Seal? And it’s a mother ***king robot war Like no mother ***king robot war before Block your windows and sellotape up your doors Big Dogs Dream ‘Cos we’ve evolved from being pack mules Into rocket launching boom boom boom booms What’s that? You didn’t know the end was here? You designed us, you better get resigned to fear.

The soldiers marched on without rest What moral courage they possessed Through blazing sun to meet their end To Centreville, I marched with them Amid the roar of musketry The bodies fell on battlefield No bandages nor brandy stems The blood of fallen Union - men O Missus B. - how can it be - I'll never see - my darling boy again Lay down the cross, take up the crown For soon shall you sleep in Jesus my dear Rebels fire upon our line Brave boys fall, brave men die I try in vain to save their lives The hour is late, the end is nigh Along the lines - beyond the fire - the dimming eyes - turn upward to the sky Lay down the cross, take up the crown For soon shall you sleep in Jesus my dear O that I could fight and die with you Heal every wound and rise with you But as I sit here and comfort you You're only a ghost in my arms Fading away in my arms

Meine liebling, ich liebe dich, und auf wiedersehen My love, you must try to hear me There will be no letter, for we are cut off now Nothing now can save us, in this broken wasteland So cold, that I can barely feel my fingers, barely hold my rifle Oh my God I miss you, we are godforsaken I keep your photograph inside my head Now your memories are all I have left And I lie dreaming on the frozen ground Of that safe place to return to So cold, and supplies are low And the tanks proved useless, and the night brings death In the rattenkrieg - underneath the streets Where they kill us in the tunnels So cold, that I can barely feel my fingers, barely hold my rifle Oh my God I miss you, we are godforsaken I keep your photograph inside my head Now your memories are all I have left And I lie dreaming on the frozen ground Of that safe place to return to How can this be glory? Still forbidden to surrender One by one, winter takes us One by one, hunger takes us Oh my God I miss you, we are godforsaken I keep your photograph inside my head Now your memories are all I have left And I lie dreaming on the frozen ground Of that safe place to return to

VERSE: There's a war raging deep in my soul but nobody knows. Invaders from lands unknown and it's taken control. Sometimes I forget that it's there. Other times it's everywhere. I can't believe what I've done. I can't believe that it's done. CHORUS: It's in the air as I sit in my chair and I feel no peace anymore. I once took a stand but I o'erplayed my hand and I feel no peace anymore. Sat b'hind the wheel as the sky turns to teal and I feel no peace anymore. Go to my room so I can stare at the gloom 'cause I feel no peace anymore. (Now shut the door.) This war can't be won. No, it can't be won. But who'd want to win this war of me? VERSE: Someone told me people are strange. And you know people don't change. It's hard to know what to do when everyone's counting on you. I can scheme a dream that feels right in the heat of the night. Then in the cold light of day everything crumbles away. I don't much care for your tone. Why don't you leave me alone? I think I've told you before. Baby, this is a one sided war. CHORUS: It's in the air as I sit in my chair and I feel no peace anymore. You hold out your hand but I'm unable to stand 'cause I feel no peace anymore. Sat b'hind the wheel as the sky turns to teal and I feel no peace anymore. We hurt those we love when push comes to shove and I feel no peace in this war. (The war of me)

about

We went into enemy territory with this album, exploring themes harder than any themes we've ever explored before. The result is perhaps are most consistent album to-date. Despite a band size numbering in the teens and 14 tracks, this album, perhaps more than any of our others, sounds like we all got together in a bunker, and recorded it together. Attention!

about

Intercontinental Music Lab Cambridge, UK

Since 2008, the Intercontinental Music Lab has produced eight albums. They’ve all been made in the same way. We came up with a concept or theme for an album, then asked people to choose subjects around that theme and compose some music. The theme for our first album was science. The theme for our latest album is Spielberg. Enjoy! ... more
